A monthly practice in being human
Sometimes you don't need to think your way through something. You need space to experience it.
Just Breathe™ is an evening to step away from the pace of everyday life and explore something most of us do thousands of times every day without giving it much thought:
Breathe.
We begin practically, exploring how you're breathing and learning simple principles of functional breathing.
Then we move into experience.
Through active breathwork, music and sound, you're invited out of the constant thinking, analysing and doing of everyday life and into a different kind of relationship with yourself.
And we finish together — with tea, food, conversation and space to integrate what the evening brought up for you.
There is no right experience to have.
There is simply an invitation to show up and discover what happens when you give yourself the space to breathe.

The Just Breathe™ journey
How the evening unfolds
Arrive + Learn → Breathe + Experience → Receive + Integrate → Share + Connect
01
Arrive + Learn
Start with the breath you're already taking.
We begin with functional breathing.
You'll explore how you currently breathe and learn practical breathing principles and exercises that can support greater awareness of your everyday breathing patterns.
This gives the evening a grounded, practical starting point — and gives you tools you can take with you beyond the room.

02
Breathe + Experience
Then we move from understanding into experience.
The second part of the evening is an active, more intensive breathwork journey accompanied by carefully selected music.
The music carries an emotional arc while Laura guides the breathing experience.
Different people experience this differently.
There is no particular state, emotion or outcome you are expected to achieve.
The invitation is to remain curious about what arises for you.

03
Receive + Integrate
From active breath into stillness.
Following the breathwork journey, Laura uses live sound and a range of instruments to create a quieter space for rest, reflection and integration.
There is nothing you need to do during this part of the evening.
Receive. Notice. Rest.
04
Share + Connect
And then we come back together.
Just Breathe doesn't end when the breathwork stops.
The evening closes with organic tea, simple organic snacks and conversation.
Sharing is always invited and never forced.
For Laura, this is one of the most important parts of the experience.
Hearing how other people experienced the same evening can give us perspective on our own experience. Sometimes another person's words help us recognise something in ourselves.
We make space to talk, listen, reflect and close the evening together.
The experience may be individual. The integration happens in community.
You don't need to manufacture a breakthrough.
Every Just Breathe experience is different — and every person in the room may experience the same evening differently.
- You might feel emotion arise.
- You might laugh.
- You might cry.
- You might experience clarity, lightness, relief or deep stillness.
- You might notice physical sensations.
- You might have insights.
Or you might simply leave noticing your breath — and yourself — a little differently.
Nothing needs to happen for the experience to have been worthwhile.
You don't need to be falling apart to need space.
You might come to Just Breathe…
Because life feels full.
Because something is changing.
Because you've been spending a lot of time in your head.
Because you're curious about breathwork.
Because you'd like to experience yourself outside your normal routine.
Because you want meaningful connection that doesn't require small talk.
Or simply because you'd like an evening where nobody needs anything from you.
You don't need a problem to solve.
You just need to be curious enough to experience something different.

Questions
Frequently asked
No experience is needed. Laura guides you through every step of the evening, from the grounding and functional breathing education through to the guided breathwork and sound journey. You are always in control of your own pace and depth.
Wear warm, comfortable, non-restrictive clothing. We provide yoga mats, cushions and a blanket, and you are more than welcome to bring anything else that helps you feel comfortable — a water bottle, a journal, an extra layer or warm socks.
Conscious breathwork is a deeply restorative practice, but certain health conditions require care or a modified technique. If you are pregnant, have cardiovascular conditions, epilepsy, a history of aneurysms, or recent surgery, please review the safety information or get in touch before booking so Laura can advise on appropriate modifications.
Just Breathe™ takes place monthly at Refigure Chiropractic in Mosman, on Sydney's Lower North Shore — the studio where Laura practises from. Dates and tickets are updated each month through Humanitix.
