About
Hi, I'm Laura.
I'm the founder of The Love Approach Project, and for more than a decade I've been exploring what helps us understand ourselves, trust ourselves and stay connected to who we are while life is actually happening.
My work today brings together Emotional Fitness, behavioural awareness, coaching and breathwork — but underneath all of it is something much simpler:
I believe awareness creates choice.
And when we understand ourselves more deeply, we have more choice in how we meet ourselves, each other and whatever life brings next.
The work
How I help people meet life differently.
How I help

My work has evolved over the years, but the thread running through it hasn't changed: helping people understand themselves more deeply, access the resources available to them, and build the self-trust to meet what comes next.
If any of this sounds like where you are right now, we can begin with a conversation.
Book a Discovery CallThe story
It started with something I needed myself.
I was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and The Love Approach Project began long before I knew it would become the work I do today.
In my twenties, I went through a period of severe anxiety and panic. I was trying to understand what was happening to me, searching for different ways to support myself, and beginning what would become a much bigger journey of getting to know myself and learning how to come back to myself.
During that time, I had the fortune of finding someone who gave me something incredibly simple and incredibly powerful:
Space.
Someone sat across from me, listened, and helped me see that I didn't have to have everything figured out in order to begin finding my way through.
I remember how much that mattered.
And somewhere along the way, I realised I wanted to be able to offer that kind of space to other people too.
Around that time, I also studied briefly with a Kung Fu teacher in Colombia who left me with an idea I've carried ever since:
“We are teachers of what we have already learned, and students of what we have yet to learn.”
That idea gave me permission to stop waiting until I was perfectly healed, perfectly wise or had life completely sorted before I could be useful to another human being.
And more than a decade later, life still hasn't handed me my certificate in Having Everything Figured Out.

The beginning
And then one night, I asked for a name.
In 2014, I felt an enormous pull to bring people together.
It wasn't a business plan. I wasn't building a funnel. I wanted to create a space where people could gather, talk honestly about what was happening in their lives, learn, connect and grow.
One night, before I went to sleep, I asked for a name for the project.
I woke up with one.
The Love Approach Project.
I remember rushing to find a pen and paper before I forgot it.
To this day, that remains one of those moments in my life that felt almost impossible to explain — just a profound sense of being guided towards something I was meant to follow.
What began as small gatherings and honest conversations gradually evolved into the work I do today with individuals, groups and organisations.
But the name has remained a kind of compass.
What would love do?
Not what would fear do.
Not what would keeping everybody happy do.
Not what would proving myself do.
What would love do — for me, for the person in front of me, and for the situation I'm actually in?
I don't always know the answer immediately.
That's part of being human too.
Life changes us
Sometimes the work you teach becomes the work you need.
Years later, life gave me another opportunity to practise what I'd spent so long learning.
I had moved from Colombia to Sydney after following the man who would become my husband. Twelve years later, our marriage ended.
That chapter changed a great deal of what I thought my life was going to look like.
And suddenly, so much of the work I had been exploring and teaching became very real in a new way.
Could I trust myself when I didn't know what came next?
Could I access the resources I'd spent years developing when I actually needed them?
Could I make decisions without knowing exactly where they would lead?
Could I stay connected to myself while my life was changing around me?
That experience didn't give me all the answers.
It deepened my relationship with the questions.
And I believe it made me a better practitioner.
Living away from the country where I was born has shaped me too.
Migration has meant building a life in different places, moving between cultures, being separated from people I love and continually asking what home, belonging and a meaningful life actually mean to me.
It has made me even more curious about the things we inherit, the identities we build, the choices we make and the quiet nudges we sometimes feel towards a life that looks different from the one we expected.
What I believe
The work isn't about becoming someone else.
Awareness creates choice.
We can't change what we can't recognise. Awareness gives us the opportunity to notice what is happening before automatically repeating what we've always done.
Self-trust is built through evidence.
Self-trust isn't believing we'll always get it right. It's discovering, through experience, that we can rely on ourselves to meet what happens next.
Growth isn't linear.
Sometimes an old pattern returns because we're meeting it in a new situation, with a new level of awareness and a different set of resources. Coming back to something doesn't necessarily mean we've gone backwards.
We don't need to become perfect at being human.
We can understand ourselves better, develop greater capacity and learn to meet ourselves, each other and life with more awareness and choice.
The work isn't only about becoming better equipped for difficulty. It's about becoming more available for life.
For joy. Connection. Opportunity. Adventure. Love. Growth. Success. Play. And the ordinary moments we might otherwise be too busy, distracted or worried to fully experience.
Professional foundations
Curiosity became a body of work.
I'm endlessly curious about what makes us human, and over the years that curiosity has taken me across different disciplines rather than into one single methodology.
My work draws from behavioural awareness, Emotional Fitness, coaching, breathwork, communication and years of working directly with people navigating the realities of life, relationships, leadership, work and change — individuals, groups, leaders and organisational teams.

If you're wondering whether working together makes sense for you, a discovery call is where that conversation begins.

When I'm not doing this…
You'll probably find me dancing salsa, writing, cooking something delicious, finding a very good gelato, watching a film, spending time with people I love… or cleaning.
Yes. Cleaning. Voluntarily. I find it incredibly satisfying.
I love bringing people together too — which, when I think about it, has been a thread running through my life and The Love Approach Project from the very beginning.
In 2026, I swapped facilitation for sequins and took part in Stars of the North, raising funds for Cancer Council — and somehow walked away the winner.
Because while I'm fascinated by how we navigate the difficult parts of being human, I care just as much about our capacity to experience the beautiful ones.

Life contains serious things. I don't believe we have to become serious people in order to meet them.

A good place to start
Let's have a conversation.
Sometimes when you're right in the middle of something, it can be difficult to see beyond where you are.
A Discovery Call gives us some space to look at what's happening for you, what you're experiencing, and explore some of the possibilities or options that might be difficult to see from inside it.
You don't need to know what you need before you come.
You just need to be willing to have the conversation.

We can't always choose what life brings us.
But we can learn to meet it differently.
